STONE
As well as using traditional materials such as natural stone and lime pointing, we also use traditional techniques such as dry stone walling. We also try to reuse as much of the original stone as possible – moss included– reducing the need to bring in new materials by road.

WOOD
You’ll find high quality exposed timbers throughout our properties, revealing unexpected finishes and adding real warmth. The attention to detail extends to the choice of timbers. For example, we try to bring in locally felled timber such as larch, helping to link the building clearly with its local environment.

SLATE
Where possible, we source reclaimed Scotch slate. Although an expensive material, it is the perfect match for many of our properties. As well as making sound ecological sense, it also helps tie our homes to the past.
